BIOGRAPHY

Cinanti Astria Johansjah

BALIKPAPAN, INA, 1985
Cinanti Astria Johansjah (also known as Keni) mostly worked with water based paints, a medium she considers most appropriate to express her fluid and free imagination. To date, Cinanti’s practice has dealt with the artist’s obsession towards the depiction of an- imals presented as both allegory and reverie. The life of her artworks is the adempauze: a moment of interlude. She captures a moment from the short breath, transforming it into a space for an ephemeral mind travelling, a space of concentration which begins every vast occurrence.
