Place the King in the Right Position
Franziska directs her critical mind to look around the issues in her neighborhood. The residency allowed her to observe and address oneself to the differences and similarities between the two cultures she lived in (as a German who stayed in Indonesia). Being someone with german nationality, tradition and spirituality in Indonesian culture (especially Javanese) attracts her and manifested into curiosity towards it. While settled in Indonesia, Franziska experiences and observes the Javanese mundane life as an "outsider"; as a German who is critically perceived different improper socio-political aspects around the world which exposed to different customs and heritage. Her works-which created in Indonesia-valued the intersection between the variety of issues she took on both countries, as well as the similarity/relations between the two.
