M. Akbar

Born in Bandung 1984, Bachelor in Education from Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (grad. 2007) Majoring in French Language teaching, Masters in Fine Art at Institut Teknologi Bandung (grad. 2012). Working on multi-medium: video, moving image, digital imagery, to paper cutting, Akbar artistic practice is based on the awareness of the self as viewed by others, and as we see others, while embedded in our interchanging roles daily as both the spectacle and the spectator, Akbar can prompt viewers to question the state of this duality and their awareness of vision as a form of social control.
