Agus Suwage

Born in Purworejo, Central Java, Indonesia in 1959. He is known through his works that often use self-portrait, and a slight twist of whimsical gestures acting as a reflection that comment on actual issues in society. His carrier as an artist started in 1980s, just before he became a part of the new age of Indonesian artists in the 1990s, and went international in the middle of 2000s.
